Drainage Problem

Postby Booth » Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:37 am

Hello, I have some serious problem with the drainage. I am the tenant so the property is not mine but the landlord just ignores me when I call him or his wife. I paid £370.00 to a Drainage Clearance company, called Dyno in September. They came with a video camera, water jets and all the stuff they carry in the van. I've tried to pass on the bill to the landlord but he told me that it is my duty to maintain the property and pay the bills for rent. The drain is blocked again, I called a different plumber whom I know it works for the company that runs this forum and they didn't even bother to come and see the problem. Over the phone I have been told that it might be a collapsed drain and it can be expensive. What am I supposed to do now ?

There was a case about drains and sewage in a basement in London

Two weeks ago, James from Edgware called in to condemn the bonus for the boss of Thames Water Martin Baggs, who was awarded an annual bonus of £418,359 for the year to March 31 on top of his £425,000 salary.

He told us that he's been suffering for six months with raw sewage under his house and nothing has been done about it. James said that Thames Water said they couldn't do anything about it.

We then spoke to Thames Water last Wednesday, who told us they had done CCTV tests on the drains and found what the issue is.

We asked them to provide their videos of exactly what was in James's drains to show the extent of the problem... and this is the riveting video that they sent us.

If your property was built before 1937 and your drainage problem appears to be in a section of drainage used by other properties or if it appears that the main sewer in the road may be blocked please contact:

Thames Water Utilities plc
